Bank Art Museum Moree (BAMM) invites independent artists and collectives to apply for the Stairwell Gallery, a new exhibition initiative activating the gallery’s stairwell as a curated exhibition space. Connecting the ground floor and Level One of BAMM, the Stairwell Gallery offers a highly visible, light-filled environment and forms part of the gallery’s broader exhibition program.

The Stairwell Gallery is a transitional and connective space—one that is both functional and experiential. The Stairwell Gallery supports independent artistic practice and offers artists the opportunity to present work within the everyday flow of the museum, where art is encountered as part of a journey rather than a destination.

The Opportunity

• Open to professional, independent artists and collectives

• No hire fee

• 6-week exhibition period

• Approximately 30 metres of wall space with wall height varying from 2.4m to 5.5m

• Exhibitions included in BAMM opening night events

  BAMM provides:

• Gallery invigilation

• Artwork sales management

• Vinyl lettering

• Digital marketing support and promotion via the BAMM website
  
  Commission:

• 35% on all works sold
  
  Artists are responsible for:

• Freight of artworks

• Installation and de-installation

Space Considerations

Applicants should note:

• The stairwell receives natural light

• The space connects the ground floor with Level One of the gallery

• Best suited to paintings, though objects and sculptural works may be considered in selected areas
