Women of the Changing Seasons

TAFE Moree

An exhibition by artist Ann Johnson that reflects the deep connection between women, Country and the cycles of the seasons. Inspired by the rivers, land and traditional patterns of her home, each work tells a story of belonging, as well as movement and change.

Through painting and fabric work, Johnson explores the role of women gathering bush tucker, sharing knowledge and culture, and caring for Country. The works speak to the quiet strength of women and the importance of connection. As well, the changing seasons guide these stories, shaping patterns, colours and rhythms to reflect the natural world. Just as the land shifts and renews, so too do the stories carried through family and community.

Women of the Changing Seasons honours Country, family and the knowledge that is shared across generations, keeping culture strong and alive.
