Work with BAMM

Gallery Manager

Bank Art Museum Moree (BAMM) is seeking an organised, resourceful and collaborative Gallery Manager.

We’re looking for a Gallery Manager to join the team at Bank Art Museum Moree (BAMM) and help drive the next exciting chapter of one of regional NSW’s public art museums.

We’re seeking an organised, resourceful and collaborative Gallery Manager who loves making things happen. Someone who can bring people together, keep things running smoothly, think on their feet and take pride in creating a welcoming and dynamic environment for artists, audiences and colleagues alike.

If you’re a natural problem-solver, a great communicator and someone who thrives in a creative environment where no two days are the same, we’d love to hear from you.

About the role
The Gallery Manager takes responsibility for the day-to-day operations of BAMM, working collaboratively with colleagues who lead exhibitions, education, collections and marketing.

BAMM operates through a distributed leadership model, where each team member has clear responsibilities. The model encourages initiative, shared problem-solving and collaboration across the Gallery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing daily gallery operations, visitor services and front-of-house arrangements.

  • Coordinating staff rosters, onboarding, volunteers and routine HR administration.

  • Overseeing building and grounds maintenance, contractors, security and workplace safety.

  • Managing external venue hire and supporting the operational delivery of exhibitions, openings and public events.

  • Maintaining effective administrative systems, operational records and visitor information.

  • Contributing to a positive, inclusive and collaborative workplace.

This role is part-time, 3 days per week. Salary is offered pro-rata.

About you
You are a capable and practical organiser who enjoys working with people and taking responsibility. You bring sound judgement, initiative and a collaborative approach to your work.

You have experience in operations, venue management, administration or a related field, along with strong organisational and communication skills.

Experience in an art gallery, museum, cultural organisation or community venue would be highly regarded, but is not essential. We welcome applicants with relevant transferable skills from other sectors.

Why work with BAMM?
You’ll join a small, committed team delivering an ambitious cultural program in regional NSW. This role offers genuine responsibility, varied work and the opportunity to contribute to an organisation with strong connections to its community.

How to apply
We invite applicants to submit a current CV and a cover letter of no more than two A4 pages, outlining their interest in the Gallery Manager position and addressing the following:

  • Relevant experience and skills in operations, administration, venue management or a similar environment.

  • Organisational skills and initiative, including the ability to manage competing priorities, solve problems and work independently.

  • Experience working with people, including coordinating staff, volunteers, contractors or working collaboratively within a small team.

  • An understanding of visitor experience, and the importance of creating a welcoming, accessible and inclusive public space.

  • Your interest in BAMM and the Moree community, and what attracts you to working in a regional cultural organisation.

We welcome applications from people with experience in the arts and cultural sector, as well as those bringing relevant skills and experience from other industries.
